SD CDA Program - Region 1

The Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (TM) is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education (ECE) and is a key stepping stone on the path of career advancement in (ECE). The CDA Course offered through Early Childhood Connections covers the eight key CDA subject areas: 1. Planning a safe and healthy environment 2. Advancing children’s physical & intellectual development 3. Supporting children’s social and emotional development 4. Building productive relationships with families 5. Managing an effective program 6. Maintaining a committment to professionalism 7. Observing and recording children’s behavior 8. Understanding principles of child development and learning The CDA program through ECC costs $750. Scholarships may be available. For information about CDA registration, renewal or other information about the program, contact Janessa Bixel at 605-342-6464.
